Pienza: a landscape for movies!

After having visited the enchanting town of Pienza, we’ll walk along the pathways and the dust tracks of the well-known hills of the Val d’Orcia which in every season present us with scenarios which are always different but always magnificent. This sinuous landscape, declared a Unesco World Heritage Site, has been celebrated in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period by the most famous Sienese painters and has become a perfect example of the union between nature and the local population, a design based on the agricultural and rural running and artistic research. But the glimpses of the Val d’Orcia have been made immortal by great artists even in recent times, for example by the film director Ridley Scott, in fact we’ll be going through the exact spot where the famous scene from “The Gladiator” was shot.
